The location is good but otherwise a negative experience. A LOT of noise coming in from the street throughout the day and night and through the paper-thin wall. Tiny shower that is unpleasant to use. The hotel is located on the second floor of what seems like an office building and requires buzzing and talking with the receptionist every time you want to enter the building. Having a guest over was also very burdensome. However, the main reason I had a bad experience is because on check out day, despite ample availability, when I asked to check out at 12pm instead of their standard 11am, the reception told me to read the sign on his desk. He didn’t even answer my question directly. I asked if it was 30 euros for the one hour extension and he said yes. I found this unreasonable given that the nightly rate I paid was 100 euros.

Booked via google Expedia search, hitel displayed a 40% discount, presumed it was a better hotel with empty rooms trying to fill at a discount. Mistake. Located in a good area of Rome, located on second floor of a nice building, with a beautiful period staircase, a large door with a sign opened to a narrow corridor with check in desk (nice staff) , to what really is more like a hostel with slightly better design elements! Two nights unrest, but last morning no water for shower. Stay here by all means if same price as a hostel, or plump up for a regular hotel.

The location is excellent but alas the hotel is awful. The WIFI didn't work and took about 3 days to fix. There were no English channels on the TV. The room was very small (which is usual in Rome) but was very badly configured. The bathroom was quite large but mostly occupied by an enormous bath however the plug didn't fit. There was a safe but they couldn't find the key. It was difficult to open the cupboard door as the room was too cramped. They could simply remove the doors! Eventually they offered us another room. In the new room there was no safe but one was supplied eventually. The shower was very difficult to get into as it was so cramped. At times the water pressure was hopelessly low. This hotel is poorly managed and maintained. With some investment it could be greatly improved. On the plus side the bedroom windows opened wide to give lots of fresh air and there was a common room where you could make tea. There were 2 coffee machines but they were broken. After we complained about the issues the hapless manager agreed not to bill us the local tax. We will never stay at this hotel again.

We needed a place to stay in central Rome after our original accommodation fell through at 4pm on our first night -- 939 was able to get us set up in a pinch and the front desk was very helpful and accommodating considering the circumstances. The room was quite small -- we had to climb over our stuff to get around the bed and we were traveling with just two carry on-sized suitcases and backpacks. We didn't notice anything in terrible condition but the room wasn't in great shape overall. Wifi was passable. There is an elevator but no breakfast. Didn't bother us a ton because we were constantly out and about, and really what you are paying for is the location. The location can't be beat -- you're a 10-20 minute walk from just about everything. We took way fewer taxis than we thought we would because we knew we could walk, and if you do need a taxi you're very close to the river and some major streets so you don't have to call ahead or walk forever to hit an actual street with traffic. It felt nice knowing we were never that far from the room if we needed it. We were happy with the price given a lot of the other options in the same part of the city. So if you're traveling light, don't plan on spending much time in your room, and want something reasonably priced in a great walking-friendly location, you'll probably be satisfied.

Worst hotel experience ever. This hotel is in a state of decay. Floors are cracking, holes in the walls and not even trying to fix broken fridges and bed lights, but leave the cords hanging. But worst of all is that the rooms have a stench of humidity and the bathrooms even of mold. There is free internet access, but quality is poor and your mobile will have higher speed. This is so sad as the location is great and cleaning is good (with lots of chlorine to keep the mold stench down) However, service is down to a minimum (note: no breakfast) and for some reason city tax needs to be paid cash instead by credit card, as can be done in other hotels in Rome. Avoid this hotel to maintain happiness in your life.
